Arabic Halva Lollies

Here is our puff pastry baking idea from the "Recipes around the world" series for sweet halva lollies. Let us inspire you!

Moin Bio Butter Blätterteig

Ingredients for 48 lollies

1 pck. MOIN organic butter puff pastry
150 g halva
48 pistachios
4–5 tbsp honey
48 wooden skewers

We used our butter puff pastry for this recipe - but you could also use any other MOIN puff pastry (e.g. wholemeal or spelt puff pastry).


1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (fan-assisted: 155°C). Separate pastry sheets and let them thaw for about 5 minutes.
2. Finely grate the halva, spread evenly over and press into the puff pastry sheets. Roll up the pastry sheets and cut each role into 8 slices.
3. Carefully heat 4–5 tbsp of honey in a small pot. In the meantime, place pastry-halva-slices onto the skewers to create lollies. As soon as the honey is runny enough, coat the pastry with it and press one pistachio into the middle of each lolly.
4. Place pastry lollies on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in the middle of a preheated oven for approx. 10 minutes. Should you not have any wooden skewers, no worries. You can also bake the halva pastries without skewers and just call them cookies.
