Bratapfel Tarte

A RECIPE TO SWEETEN YOUR ADVENT SEASON

Baked Apple Pastry Tart

This recipe really competes with the classic baked apple for a cosy winter afternoon treat.

Times
Preparation: approx. 40 mins.
Baking time: approx. 30 mins.

Moin Bio Vollkorn Blätterteig

Ingredients for one
tart form (Ø 26 cm)

1 pck. MOIN Organic Wholemeal Puff Pastry Vegan
2 - 3 apples
50 g nuts (e.g. almonds or hazelnuts)
20 g cranberries
30 g coconut flakes
50 g cane or coconut sugar
60 g marzipan

Spices: Cinnamon, vanilla, star anise, nutmeg or your favourite winter spice mix.

Coconut oil for greasing
Icing sugar for decoration

We baked the tart with our Organic Wholemeal Puff Pastry Vegan, but it also works with any other MOIN pastry.

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan-assisted).

2. Take MOIN Organic Wholemeal Puff Pastry Vegan out of the freezer, seperate the dough sheets and let them thaw for approx. 5 minutes.

3. Grease the tart form with some coconut oil and line it with the pastry sheets. Make sure to press the pastry firmly against your form and then cut off the excess pastry. Save for decoration.

4. Core the apples and cut them into approx. 2 cm big pieces and chop nuts.

5. Combine apples, nuts, cranberries, coconut flakes, sugar and spices in a pot. Cook on low heat until the apples pieces are soft.

6. Roll out the marzipan thinly and cover the puff pastry base with it.

7. Pour the apple filling into the tart and bake on the middle shelf of the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

8. For decoration, cut out stars and circles from the leftover puff pastry dough. Bake for 10 minutes between baking paper weighted down by a second baking tray and then sprinkle with icing sugar to decorate the tart.
