Butter

All systems go:

Regional value creation with the Meierei Horst!

After a 2-year lead time, our project “1000 Cows for Moin” has entered the next phase, and we are delighted! “All good things are worth waiting for,” remarks Achim Bock, Manager of the Meierei Horst dairy (Horst is located around 17 km away from us), at the press event held together with the Bioland association to mark the signing of a contract at the end of October. And Moin’s Managing Director, Hans-Paul Mattke, added “good things take time!”, by which he was referring to the quality created by the long proofing time that makes our baked goods so tasty and wholesome. The high quality of Meierei Horst’s sour cream butter is also in part due to how long it matures for. Birds of a feather flock together, as the saying goes. We are starting with a small amount to begin with, but hope that our collaboration will help to boost the dairy’s organic butter production. You can read more about the project here: 1000 cows for Moin

Since the price is higher than what we would usually pay, we will try to make a particularly high-quality product with it: a premium butter croissant filled with strawberry jam. In early 2019 we took delivery of the first consignment of our organic butter from Horst - a cause for celebration!

Step by step we are edging closer to our vision of a regional network for an eco-friendly closed-loop economy based on trust, sustainability and brotherhood. We are most definitely staying the course and will keep you up to date with our latest news!
