"...but where there is danger, there also grows that which saves us..." (Hölderlin)

New times,

new perspectives

A new era seems to have dawned. We often tend to react to unfamiliar circumstances with scepticism or even fear. Especially the feeling of loss of control can be very troublesome. Nevertheless, times of crises also hold great opportunities. When everything left and right collapses, we still have our middle to focus on, our core from which we can draw strength. Some of us are literally forced to shift down a few gears and ask ourselves: Where am I at in my life and where am I going? What is really important to me?

When we have clear sight of what we don’t want, it also becomes much more apparent what we do want. And the desire for improvement stimulates our creativity to come up with something new. We see it all around us: the many innovative business models that are springing up in a matter of days, the countless videos that are currently going online to give people something to laugh about despite the situation, or the carpentry, hammering, sawing and painting in almost every household... all of this is evidence of our inherent creative power.

Even if it happens out of unpleasant or even threatening necessity, we humans can be so wonderfully resourceful and creative. If we let ourselves be guided by love and compassion, now, we can invent, develop and implement new systems that benefit all of us and the environment.

We hear from people in Italy who sing together from their balconies and from people in England who come out of their front doors at the same time to applaud those who are taking care of the sick. "Tolerance and solidarity are also sometimes contagious," as Matthias Horx so aptly writes in his article "Corona: An exercise in resilience“.

This new situation shows us very clearly: We are one world and dependent on each other. We need each other.

So, please, stay positive, rest, eat good food, get fresh air and do things that make you happy. Maybe now you'll finally get around to reading? Or if you don't feel like reading, how about baking? You can try out our recipes. By the way, we’ve also created something new: Three chilled vegan spelt doughs that are wonderfully versatile.

You could also delight your neighbours with your homemade food, especially those who feel lonely or worry a lot about what's going to happen to them as they see their existence being threatened. Let's help each other as best we can! If you are not financially threatened now, you can order books from your local book store, commission things, buy art or choose to not get a refund on your concert tickets. Those who want to go back to their sports or yoga studio, theatre or club in the future, can help all these places to survive. This can be the beginning of a real sharing economy!

Don't panic... Together we can do this!
