Democracy for future!

An art compaign to strengthen our society

On 15.11.2019, hundreds of people gathered in front of the Reichstag in Berlin to work for the strengthening of democracy. John Quigley was there, too, an internationally renowned artist, who aims to inspire people with his sculptures to express their own creativity and thus to assume their responsibility as part of society. Under the motto "Democracy for Future," a huge spiral of shiny golden fabric and people holding hands covered a quarter of the lawn in front of the Reichstag. This artistic symbol of democracy covered a larger space than two football pitches, and a laola wave also got rolling. Claudine Nierth, spokeswoman for the federal board of Mehr Demokratie e.V., said: "This living work of art stands for the creative power of the citizens, the Citizens' Council and far beyond. We urgently need new forms of democratic participation in order to meet the challenges of our time. The Citizens' Council is the next step towards more democracy in Germany."
