Blätterteig-Schmetterlinge

Light and tasty

Puff pastry butterflies with turmeric wings

This recipe is perfect for creating delicate and delicious eye-catchers from just a few ingredients. We chose yellow turmeric wings, but you could also use rosehip powder for a reddish colour. You could even go ahead and bake a whole multi-coloured butterfly swarm - as sweet (Easter) buffet decorations or simply to welcome spring.

MOIN Dinkel Blätterteig vegan

Ingredients for 12 butterflies:

1 roll MOIN Spelt Puff Pastry Vegan

4 heaped tablespoons of sugar

1 heaped tablespoon turmeric

a little water to coat

Zubereitung

  1. Remove the Vegan Spelt Puff Pastry from the fridge and leave at room temperature for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C (fan-assisted) or 200°C (top and bottom heat).
  2. Mix sugar and turmeric.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and brush thinly with water using a pastry brush.
  4. Spread the sugar-turmeric mixture evenly over the puff pastry.
  5. Roll up the puff pastry from both short sides towards the centre.
  6. Turn the dough so that the two rolls lie on top of each other.
  7. Cut 2 - 3 cm thick pieces with a knife or sharp spatula.
  8. Cut these pieces again halfway on the open side (see pictures below).
  9. Then carefully take the pieces, unfold them like a butterfly and arrange them evenly on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  10. Bake the butterflies for about 20 to 25 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy and eat them while they are still warm.

Tip: Instead of turmeric, you can also use rosehip powder or other coloured spices to your taste.
