Blätterteig-Sterne

Christmas magic

Tasty puff pastry stars

with marzipan and

red currant jelly

Baking biscuits has never been easier: Take the dough out of the fridge, unroll it, cut it into shapes, top it, bake it - and you're done.

This recipe can be a real lifesaver, for example if you have unexpected visitors coming around for Advent coffee or have promised the children to bake Christmas biscuits with them, but find yourself running out of time.

But even with lots of time on your hands, these puff pastry stars are fun to make - especially if you like quick results - and they are super tasty. Enjoy!

MOIN Dinkel Blätterteig vegan

Ingredients for at least 6 big and 3 small stars

1 pck. MOIN Spelt Puff Pastry Dough Vegan

approx. 100 g marzipan

approx. 100 g red currant jelly

40 g icing sugar

Preparation

1.   Unroll the puff pastry with the baking paper and cut out 12 stars (approx. 7 cm Ø). Cut out six of them in the centre with a smaller star shape (approx. 3.5 cm Ø) so that you have 6 small (inner) stars and 6 star frames.

2.   Combine the marzipan with a little icing sugar and roll out on a work surface lightly dusted with icing sugar. Cut out another 6 stars (approx. 7 cm Ø).

3.   Warm the jelly in a pot over medium heat and then brush a thin layer of it over the 6 larger dough stars.

4.   Top each jelly-coated dough star with a marzipan star and brush again with some jelly. Place the star frames on the jelly-coated marzipan stars and top up the centre with more jelly.

5.    Now, brush the small stars with jelly and press two together (with the jelly side facing inwards).

6.   Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) on the middle shelf for approx. 15 minutes.

7.   Remove the puff pastry stars from the oven, leave to cool slightly and sprinkle with sifted icing sugar.

Tip: You can knead the leftover puff pastry dough together, roll it out thinly and use it again in the same way. This way you get another 3-4 tasty puff pastry stars.
